These are expressions used when giving or getting directions in Yoruba. Very useful when trying to find your way around or when lost.
Excuse me! (to ask someone): Ẹ jọ̀wọ́! |
Can you show me?: Ṣé ẹ lè fi hàn mi? |
I'm lost: Mo ti ṣìnà |
I'm not from here: Ìhín kọ́ ni mo ti wá |
Can I help you?: Njẹ́ mo lè ràn ọ́ lọ́wọ́? |
Can you help me?: Njẹ́ o lè ràn mí lọ́wọ́? |
It's near here: Ó súnmọ́ ìhín |
It's far from here: Ó jìnnà sí ìhín |
Go straight: Lọ tààrà |
Turn left: Yà sí òsì |
Turn right: Yà sí ọ̀tún |
One moment please!: Ẹ jọ̀wọ́ ní ìṣẹ́jú kan! |
Come with me!: [Ẹ] tẹ̀lé mi! |
How can I get to the museum? : Báwo ni mo ti lè dé ilé nnkan ìṣẹ̀mbáyé? |
How long does it take to get there?: Báwo ni yóò ti pẹ́ tó láti dé ibẹ̀? |
Downtown (city center): Ààrin gbùngbùn ìlú |
