Yoruba Present

This is a list of verbs in the present tense in Yoruba. First let's start with the raw format before conjugating the verbs to the present form. Make sure to compare this table and the one below it.

To write: kọ́
To love: fẹràn
To give: fún
To play: ṣere
To read: ká
To understand: yé
To have: ní
To know: mọ
To learn: kọ
To think: ronú
To work: ṣiṣẹ́
To speak: sọ̀rọ̀
To drive: wà
To smile: rẹrìn
To find: rihé

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the present tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I see you: Mo rí ẹ.
I write with a pen: Mo kọ́ pẹ̀lú kálàmù.
You love apples: Ó fẹ́ràn ápùlù.
You give money: Ó fun ní owó.
You play tennis: Ó ṣeré tẹnísì.
He reads a book: Ó ka ìwé.
He understands me: Ọ̀rọ̀ mí ye e.
She has a cat: Ó ní ológbò.
She knows my friend: Ó mọ òrẹ́ mi.
We want to learn: A fẹ́ kọ́.
We think Spanish is easy: Á rò pé Súpániṣi rọrùn.
You (plural) work here: Ẹ̀yin nṣiṣẹ́ níbí.
You (plural) speak French: Ẹ̀yin ńṣọ furansé.
They drive a car: Nwọn nwa ọ́kọ̀ ayọ́kọlẹ.
They smile: Nwọn rẹ́rìn.
