This is a list of expressions about shopping in Tamil. Useful in supermarkets, sightseeing, and when haggling to get a good bargain.

How much is this?: இதன் விலை என்ன?
itaṉ vilai eṉṉa?
Can you take less?: குறைவாக உங்களால் எடுக்க முடியுமா?
Kuṟaivāka uṅkaḷāl eṭukka muṭiyumā?
I'm just looking: நான் சாதாரணமாக பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்
Nāṉ cātāraṇamāka pārttuk koṇṭirukkiṟēṉ
This is too expensive: இதன் விலை மிகவும் அதிகம்
itaṉ vilai mikavum atikam
Do you accept credit cards?: கடன் அட்டைகளை நீங்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வீர்களா?
kaṭaṉ aṭṭaikaḷai nīṅkaḷ ēṟṟuk koḷvīrkaḷā?
Only cash please!: தயவு செய்து பணம் மட்டும்!
Tayavu ceytu paṇam maṭṭum!

Cheap: மலிவானது
malivāṉatu
Cafe: சிற்றூண்டிச் சாலை
ciṟṟūṇṭic cālai
Cinema: திரைப்படம் / சினிமா
tiraippaṭam/ ciṉimā
Supermarket: பெருஞ் சந்தை , பேரங்காடி
peruñ cantai, pēraṅkāṭi
Gas station: எரிபொருள் வழங்கும் நிலையம்
eriporuḷ vaḻaṅkum nilaiyam
Museum: பொருட்காட்சிச் சாலை
poruṭkāṭcic cālai
Pharmacy: மருந்தகம்
maruntakam
Credit card: கடன் அட்டை
kaṭaṉ aṭṭai
Cash: ரொக்கம் / பணம்
rokkam/ paṇam
Check: காசோலை
kācōlai
Parking: வாகனம் நிறுத்துமிடம்
