Afrikaans Negation

This is a lesson about negation in Afrikaans. This includes words or expressions used to form a negative form as opposted to the affirmative. For example "I don't understand".

No: Nee
Nothing: Niks
Not yet: Nog nie
No one: Niemand
No longer: nie meer nie
Never: nooit
Cannot: kan nie
Should not: moenie

The below examples demonstrate how to use the negation form in a sentence. Don't be shy to use of these expressions if you don't know something.

We don't understand: Ons verstaan nie
I do not speak Japanese: Ek praat nie Japannees nie
I cannot remember the word: Ek kan nie die woord onthou nie
You should not forget this word: Jy moenie hierdie word vergeet nie
No problem!: Geen problem! / Al's reg!
I don't know!: Ek weet nie!
I'm not interested!: Ek stel nie belang nie!
Don't worry!: Moet jou nie bekommer nie!
This is wrong: Dit is verkeerd
This is not correct: Dit is nie reg nie
No one here speaks Greek: Niemand hier praat Grieks nie
I'm not fluent in Italian yet: Ek is nog nie vlot in Italiaans nie
