Japanese Adverbs

This is a list of adverbs in Japanese. This includes adverbs of time, place, manner and frequency. Which sums up most of what you need for daily use.

Now:
ima
Later: 後で
atode
Tonight: 今夜
konya
Last night: 昨夜
sakuya
This morning: 今朝
kesa
Yesterday: 昨日
kinou
Today: 今日
kyou
Tomorrow: 明日
ashita
Next week: 来週
raishuu
Already: すでに
sudeni
Recently: 最近
saikin
Lately: 最近

Soon: もうすぐ
moosugu
Immediately: すぐに
sugu ni
Still: まだ
mada
Yet: まだ

After the above adverbs of time, now we move on to adverbs of place.

Here: ここ
koko
There: そこ
soko
Everywhere: どこにでも
doko ni demo
Anywhere: どこでも
doko demo

Now adverbs of manners, used to describe how something happens. They are usually placed after the main verb.

Carefully: 丁寧に
teinei ni
Alone: 独りで
hitori de
Very: とても
totemo
Really: 本当に
hontooni
Quickly: 速く
hayaku
Slowly: ゆっくり
yukkuri
Almost: ほとんど
hotondo
Together: 一緒に
issho ni

These are adverbs of frequency, which are used to answer the question "how often?".

Always: いつも
itsumo
Sometimes: 時々
tokidoki
Rarely: まれに
mare ni
Never: 決して
kesshite
