Turkish Directions

These are expressions used when giving or getting directions in Turkish. Very useful when trying to find your way around or when lost.

Excuse me! (to ask someone): Afedersiniz!
Can you show me?: Bana gösterebilir misin?
I'm lost: Kayboldum
I'm not from here: Buralı değilim
Can I help you?: Yardım edebilir miyim?
Can you help me?: Yardım edebilir misiniz?
It's near here: Buraya yakın
It's far from here: Buradan uzak
Go straight: Düz gidin
Turn left: Sola dönün
Turn right: Sağa dönün
One moment please!: Bir dakika lütfen!
Come with me!: Benimle gelin!
How can I get to the museum? : Müzeye nasıl gidebilirim?
How long does it take to get there?: Oraya gitmek ne kadar sürer?
Downtown (city center): Şehir merkezi

The following are words which might be used alone or in combination with other words to ask or give directions.

Near: Yakın
Far: Uzak
Right: Sağ
Left: Sol
Straight: Düz
There: orada
Here: burada
To walk: Yürümek
To drive: Sürmek
To turn: Dönmek
Traffic light: Trafik ışığı
