This is a list of adverbs in Tamil. This includes adverbs of time, place, manner and frequency. Which sums up most of what you need for daily use.
Now: இப்பொழுது ippoḻutu |
Later: பின்னர் piṉṉar |
Tonight: இன்றிரவு iṉṟiravu |
Last night: நேற்றிரவு nēṟṟiravu |
This morning: இன்று காலை iṉṟu kālai |
Yesterday: நேற்று nēṟṟu |
Today: இன்று iṉṟu |
Tomorrow: நாளை nāḷai |
Next week: அடுத்த வாரம் aṭutta vāram |
Already: ஏற்கெனவே ēṟkeṉavē |
Recently: சமீபத்தில் / சமீபகாலமாக camīpattil/ camīpakālamāka |
Lately: அண்மையில் aṇmaiyil |
Soon: விரைவில் viraivil |
Immediately: உடனடியாக uṭaṉaṭiyāka |
Still: இன்னும் iṉṉum |
Yet: இதுவரை ituvarai |
After the above adverbs of time, now we move on to adverbs of place.
Here: இங்கு iṅku |
There: அங்கு aṅku |
Everywhere: எங்கும் eṅkum |
Anywhere: எவ்விடத்திலும் evviṭattilum |
Now adverbs of manners, used to describe how something happens. They are usually placed after the main verb.
Carefully: கவனமாக kavaṉamāka |
Alone: தனியாக taṉiyāka |
Very: மிகவும் mikavum |
Really: உண்மையாக uṇmaiyāka |
Quickly: சீக்கிரமாக cīkkiramāka |
Slowly: மெதுவாக metuvāka |
Almost: பெரும்பாலும் perumpālum |
Together: ஒன்றாக oṉṟāka |
These are adverbs of frequency, which are used to answer the question "how often?".
Always: எப்பொழுதும் eppoḻutum |
Sometimes: சிலசமயங்களில் cilacamayaṅkaḷil |
Rarely: அரிதாக aritāka |
Never: ஒருபோதுமில்லை orupōtumillai |
