This is a list of adverbs in Gujarati. This includes adverbs of time, place, manner and frequency. Which sums up most of what you need for daily use.
Now: હમણાં hamaṇāṁ |
Later: પછી pachī |
Tonight: આજે રાત્રે કે સાંજે ājē rātrē kē sān̄jē |
Last night: ગઈકાલે રાત્રે ga'īkālē rātrē |
This morning: આજે સવારે ājē savārē |
Yesterday: ગઈ કાલે ga'ī kālē |
Today: આજે ājē |
Tomorrow: આવતી કાલે āvatī kālē |
Next week: આવતા અઠવાડીયે āvatā aṭhavāḍīyē |
Already: ક્યારનું kyāranuṁ |
Recently: હમણાં હમણાં hamaṇāṁ hamaṇāṁ |
Lately: તાજેતરમાં tājētaramāṁ |
Soon: જલદી jaladī |
Immediately: તત્કાળ tatkāḷa |
Still: સ્થિર sthira |
Yet: હજુ સુધી haju sudhī |
After the above adverbs of time, now we move on to adverbs of place.
Here: અહીં ahīṁ |
There: ત્યાં tyāṁ |
Everywhere: સર્વત્ર sarvatra |
Anywhere: ક્યાંય, ગમે ત્યાં kyānya, gamē tyāṁ |
Now adverbs of manners, used to describe how something happens. They are usually placed after the main verb.
Carefully: ખંતથી, સાવચેતીથી khantathī, sāvacētīthī |
Alone: એકલું, એકલવાયું, સાથસંગાથ વિનાનું, ફક્ત, કોઈના સાથ વિના, એકલદોકલ, અનન્ય, અલગ રીતે ēkaluṁ, ēkalavāyuṁ, sāthasaṅgātha vinānuṁ, phakta, kō'īnā sātha vinā, ēkaladōkala, anan'ya, alaga rītē |
Very: ઘણું , અતિશય ghaṇuṁ, atiśaya |
Really: ખરેખર , સાચે જ kharēkhara, sācē ja |
Quickly: જલદીથી; ઝડપથી jaladīthī; jhaḍapathī |
Slowly: ધીમે ધીમે, મંદ ગતિએ dhīmē dhīmē, manda gati'ē |
Almost: ઘણું કરીને, લગભગ, મોટે ભાગે ghaṇuṁ karīnē, lagabhaga, mōṭē bhāgē |
Together: ભેગાં , સાથે , એક સાથે , સાથેસાથે ; એકી વખતે , સંગાથે bhēgāṁ, sāthē, ēka sāthē, sāthēsāthē; ēkī vakhatē, saṅgāthē |
These are adverbs of frequency, which are used to answer the question "how often?".
Always: હંમેશાં , સદાકાળ ; સર્વદા hammēśāṁ, sadākāḷa; sarvadā |
Sometimes: કયારેક kayārēka |
Rarely: ભાગ્યે જ, જવલ્લે જ bhāgyē ja, javallē ja |
Never: કદી નહિ, ક્યારેય નહિ, જરાય નહિ, બિલકુલ નહિ kadī nahi, kyārēya nahi, jarāya nahi, bilakula nahi |
