Swahili Colors

This is a list of colors in Swahili. This will help you find ways to describe the colors of clothes, objects and much more.

Black: Nyeusi
Blue: Samawati
Brown: Hudhurungi
Gray: Jivu
Green: Kijani
Orange: Chungwa
Red: Nyekundu
White: Nyeupe
Yellow: Manjano
Dark color: Rangi nyeusi
Light color: Rangi mwanga
Colors: Rangi

These examples show how colors are used in Swahili. This is a good way to demonstrate how adjectives (colors) are used with nouns and verbs.

The sky is blue: Anga ni samawati
Your cat is white: Paka wako ni mweupe
Black is his favorite color: Nyeusi ndiyo rangi anayopenda
Red is not his favorite color: Nyekundu si rangi anayopenda
She drives a yellow car: Anaendesha gari la kimanjano
I have black hair: Nina nywele nyeusi
