This is a lesson about negation in Nepali. This includes words or expressions used to form a negative form as opposted to the affirmative. For example "I don't understand".
No: होइन Hō'ina |
Nothing: केही पनी होइन्- kēhī panī hō'in- |
Not yet: भएको छैन bha'ēkō chaina |
No one: कोही पनि होइन् kōhī pani hō'in |
No longer: बाकी छैन bākī chaina |
Never: कदापी kadāpī |
Cannot: हुन्न hunna |
Should not: हुन्न होला hunna hōlā |
The below examples demonstrate how to use the negation form in a sentence. Don't be shy to use of these expressions if you don't know something.
We don't understand: हामीले बुजेन hāmīlē bujēna |
I do not speak Japanese: म जापानी बोिल्दन। ma jāpānī bōildana. |
I cannot remember the word: मैले शब्द संजन सकेन। Mailē śabda san̄jana sakēna. |
You should not forget this word: ितमीले िर्बसनु हुन्न्। ̔Itamīlē ̔irbasanu hunn. |
No problem!: कुनै कठिनाई छैन। Kunai kaṭhinā'ī chaina. |
I don't know!: मलाई थाहा छैन। Malā'ī thāhā chaina. |
I'm not interested!: मलाई मन छैन। Malā'ī mana chaina. |
Don't worry!: िचन्ता नगर। ̔Icantā nagara. |
This is wrong: यो गलत हो। Yō galata hō. |
This is not correct: यो िठक होइन। Yō ̔iṭhaka hō'ina. |
No one here speaks Greek: यहाँ कसैले गृष बोल्दैन। Yahām̐ kasailē gr̥ṣa bōldaina. |
I'm not fluent in Italian yet: म अहिले सम्म ईतली भाषामा प्रोक्त भयको छैन। Ma ahilē sam'ma ītalī bhāṣāmā prōkta bhayakō chaina. |
