This is a list of pronouns in Malayalam. This includes subject, object, and the possessive. These are used on a daily basis, so don't skip this lesson. We start with the object pronouns such as "I, you, her ..."

He: അവന് avan |
She: ആവള്‍ āvaḷ |
| We: ഞങ്ങള്‍ ñaṅṅaḷ |
You (pl.): നിങ്ങൾ niṅṅaൾ |
They: അവര്‍ avar |
Here are samples to demonstrate how the object pronoun is used in a sentence.
| I love you: എനിക്ക് നിങ്ങളെ ഇഷ്ടമാണ് enikk niṅṅaḷe iṣṭamāṇ |
She is beautiful: അവൾ സുന്ദരിയാണ് avaൾ sundariyāṇ |
| We are happy: ഞങ്ങൾ സന്തുഷ്ടരാണ് ñaṅṅaൾ santuṣṭarāṇ |
They are dancing: അവർ നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുകയാണ് avaർ nr̥ttaṁ ceyyukayāṇ |
Now we look into the subject pronoun such as "me, him, us, them ...".
| Me: എനിക്ക് / എന്നോട് / എന്നെ enikk / ennēāṭ / enne |
You: നിനക്ക് / നിന്നെ / നിന്നോട് ninakk / ninne / ninnēāṭ |
Him: അവന് / അവനോട് / അവനെ avan / avanēāṭ / avane |
Her: അവള്‍ക് / അവളോട്‌ / അവളെ avaḷk / avaḷēāṭ / avaḷe |
| Us: നമുക്ക് / ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് / ഞങ്ങളെ namukk / ñaṅṅaൾkk / ñaṅṅaḷe |
You (pl.): നിങ്ങൾക്ക് / നിങ്ങളെ / നിങ്ങളോട് niṅṅaൾkk / niṅṅaḷe / niṅṅaḷēāṭ |
Them: അവർക്ക് / അവരോട് / അവരെ avaർkk / avarēāṭ / avare |
These are examples to demonstrate how the subject pronoun is used in a sentence.
| Give me your phone number: എനിക്ക് നിങ്ങളുടെ phone number തരൂ enikk niṅṅaḷuṭe phone number tarū |
I can give you my email: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്‍റെ email തരാം ñāൻ niṅṅaൾkk enṟe email tarāṁ |
| Tell him to call me: അവനോട് എന്നെ വിളിക്കാൻ പറയൂ avanēāṭ enne viḷikkāൻ paṟayū |
Can you call us?: നിനക്ക് ഞങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കാമോ ? ninakk ñaṅṅaḷe viḷikkāmēā ? |
We reach now the possessive adjective part, used to refer to thing we possess. Examples: "my, our, their ...".
| My: എന്‍റെ enṟe |
Your: നിങ്ങളുടെ niṅṅaḷuṭe |
His: അവന്‍റെ avanṟe |
Her: അവളുടെ avaḷuṭe |
| Our: നമ്മുടെ nam'muṭe |
Your (pl.): നിങ്ങളുടെ niṅṅaḷuṭe |
Their: അവരുടെ avaruṭe |
Here are samples to demonstrate how the possessive adjective is used.
| My phone number is . . .: എന്‍റെ phone number. .. enṟe phone number. .. |
His email is . . .: അവന്‍റെ email. . avanṟe email. . |
| Our dream is to visit Spain: സ്പെയിൻ സന്ദർശിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്വപ്നം speyiൻ sandaർśikkuka ennatāṇ ñaṅṅaḷuṭe svapnaṁ |
Their country is beautiful: അവരുടെ രാജ്യം മനോഹരമാണ് avaruṭe rājyaṁ manēāharamāṇ |
This is the possessive pronoun. Used as an alternative to the possessive adjectives above. Instead of saying "It is my dog" you can say "It is mine".
| Mine: എന്‍റേത് enṟēt |
Yours: നിങ്ങളുടേത് niṅṅaḷuṭēt |
His: അവന്‍റേത്‌ avanṟēt |
Hers: അവളുടേത്‌ avaḷuṭēt |
| Ours: ഞങ്ങളുടേത് / നമ്മളുടേത് ñaṅṅaḷuṭēt / nam'maḷuṭēt |
Yours (pl.): നിങ്ങളുടേത് niṅṅaḷuṭēt |
Theirs: അവരുടേത് avaruṭēt |
These are some examples of the possessive pronoun in a sentence.
| The book is mine: ആ പുസ്തകം എന്‍റേതാണ് ā pustakaṁ enṟētāṇ |
Is this pen yours?: ഈ പേന നിങ്ങളുടേതാണോ ? ī pēna niṅṅaḷuṭētāṇēā ? |
| The shoes are hers: ഷൂസ് അവളുടേതാണ് ṣūs avaḷuṭētāṇ |
Victory is ours: വിജയം നമ്മളുടേതാണ് vijayaṁ nam'maḷuṭētāṇ |
