Under: അടിയില്‍ aṭiyil |
Inside: ഉള്ളില്‍ uḷḷil |
Outside: പുറത്തു puṟattu |
| Behind: പിറകില്‍ piṟakil |
In front of: മുന്‍പില്‍ munpil |
Near: അടുത്ത് aṭutt |
Between: നടുവില്‍ naṭuvil |
These are more popular prepositions you might find useful at some point or another.
| After: പിന്നെ pinne |
Before: മുന്‍പില്‍ munpil |
With: കു‌ടെ kuṭe |
Without: ഇല്ലാതെ illāte |
| Since: പിന്നെ pinne |
Until: വരെ vare |
Of: ടെ ṭe |
From: നിന്നും ninnuṁ |
| To: ക്ക് / വരെ kk / vare |
Instead of: പകരം pakaraṁ |
In: അകത്തു akattu |
Against: എതിരെ etire |

For: വേണ്ടി vēṇṭi |
The following are conjunctions used to connect words, sentences, or phrases.
| And: ഉം uṁ |
Or: അല്ലെങ്കിൽ alleṅkiൽ |
But: എന്നാല്‍ ennāl |
So: അതുകൊണ്ട് atukeāṇṭ |
Now is the time for some prepositions used in a sentence. We are using the following: (from, under, inside, with, in, but) as examples.
| I'm from Japan: ഞാൻ ജപ്പാനിൽ നിന്നാണ് ñāൻ jappāniൽ ninnāṇ |
The pen is under the desk: പേന ഡെസ്കിന്‍റെ അടിയിലാണ് pēna ḍeskinṟe aṭiyilāṇ |
| The letter is inside the book: കത്ത് പുസ്തകത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ആണ് katt pustakattinuḷḷiൽ āṇ |
Can I practice Italian with you?: ഞാൻ നിന്‍റെ കൂടെ ചേർന്ന് ഇറ്റാലിയൻ പഠിച്ചോട്ടെ ñāൻ ninṟe kūṭe cēർnn iṟṟāliyaൻ paṭhiccēāṭṭe |
| I was born in Miami: ഞാൻ മയാമിയിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്‌ ñāൻ mayāmiyilāṇ janiccat |
I speak French but with an accent: ഞാൻ ഫ്രഞ്ച് സംസാരിക്കും ; പക്ഷെ സ്വരഭാരമുണ്ട് ñāൻ phrañc sansārikkuṁ ; pakṣe svarabhāramuṇṭ |
