This is a lesson about negation in Gujarati. This includes words or expressions used to form a negative form as opposted to the affirmative. For example "I don't understand".
No: ના nā |
Nothing: કઇ નહી ka'i nahī |
Not yet: હમણા નહી / હજી નહી hamaṇā nahī/ hajī nahī |
No one: કોઈ નહી kō'ī nahī |
No longer: હવે નહી havē nahī |
Never: ક્યારેય નહિં kyārēya nahiṁ |
Cannot: ન કરી શકો na karī śakō |
Should not: ન કરવું જોઈએ na karavuṁ jō'ī'ē |
The below examples demonstrate how to use the negation form in a sentence. Don't be shy to use of these expressions if you don't know something.
We don't understand: અમને સમજાતુ નથી amanē samajātu nathī |
I do not speak Japanese: હું જાપાનીઝ નથી બોલતી / બોલતો huṁ jāpānījha nathī bōlatī/ bōlatō |
I cannot remember the word: મને એ શબ્દ યાદ નથી આવતો manē ē śabda yāda nathī āvatō |
You should not forget this word: તમારે આ શબ્દ ભૂલવો ન જોઈએ / તમે આ શબ્દ ભૂલતા નહી tamārē ā śabda bhūlavō na jō'ī'ē/ tamē ā śabda bhūlatā nahī |
No problem!: કોઈ વાંધો નહી! kō'ī vāndhō nahī! |
I don't know!: મને નથી ખબર! Manē nathī khabara! |
I'm not interested!: મને કોઇ રસ નથી! Manē kō'i rasa nathī! |
Don't worry!: ચિન્તા મત કરો! Cintā mata karō! |
This is wrong: આ ખોટુ છે Ā khōṭu chē |
This is not correct: આ સહી નથી / આ સાચુ નથી ā sahī nathī/ ā sācu nathī |
No one here speaks Greek: અહીંયા કોઇ પણ ગ્રીક ભાષા બોલતુ નથી ahīnyā kō'i paṇa grīka bhāṣā bōlatu nathī |
I'm not fluent in Italian yet: હું હજી સુધી અસ્ખલિત પ્રકારે ઈટાલીયન બોલી શકતો નથી huṁ hajī sudhī askhalita prakārē īṭālīyana bōlī śakatō nathī |
