Flemish Negation

This is a lesson about negation in Flemish. This includes words or expressions used to form a negative form as opposted to the affirmative. For example "I don't understand".

No: neen / nee
Nothing: niets / niks
Not yet: nog niet
No one: niemand
No longer: niet langer
Never: nooit
Cannot: kan niet
Should not: mag niet

The below examples demonstrate how to use the negation form in a sentence. Don't be shy to use of these expressions if you don't know something.

We don't understand: Zij begrijpen het niet.
I do not speak Japanese: Ik spreek geen Japans.
I cannot remember the word: Ik kan me het woord niet herinneren.
You should not forget this word: Jij mag dit woord niet vergeten. / U mag dit woord niet vergeten.
No problem!: Geen probleem!
I don't know!: Ik weet het niet!
I'm not interested!: Ik ben niet geïnteresseerd!
Don't worry!: Maak je geen zorgen!
This is wrong: Dit is verkeerd.
This is not correct: Dit is niet correct.
No one here speaks Greek: Hier spreekt niemand Grieks.
I'm not fluent in Italian yet: Ik ben nog niet vloeiend in het Italiaans.
