Finnish Adverbs

This is a list of adverbs in Finnish. This includes adverbs of time, place, manner and frequency. Which sums up most of what you need for daily use.

Now: nyt
Later: myöhemmin
Tonight: tänä iltana
Last night: viime yönä
This morning: tänä aamuna
Yesterday: eilen
Today: tänään
Tomorrow: huomenna
Next week: ensi viikolla
Already: jo
Recently: äskettäin
Lately: viime aikoina
Soon: pian
Immediately: heti, välittömästi
Still: edelleen, yhä
Yet: vielä

After the above adverbs of time, now we move on to adverbs of place.

Here: täällä
There: siellä
Everywhere: kaikkialla
Anywhere: missä vain

Now adverbs of manners, used to describe how something happens. They are usually placed after the main verb.

Carefully: huolellisesti
Alone: yksin
Very: hyvin
Really: todella
Quickly: nopeasti
Slowly: hitaasti
Almost: melkein
Together: yhdessä

These are adverbs of frequency, which are used to answer the question "how often?".

Always: aina
Sometimes: joskus
Rarely: harvoin
Never: ei koskaan
