Bulgarian Pronouns

This is a list of pronouns in Bulgarian. This includes subject, object, and the possessive. These are used on a daily basis, so don't skip this lesson. We start with the object pronouns such as "I, you, her ..."

Here are samples to demonstrate how the object pronoun is used in a sentence.

I love you: Обичам те
Obicham te
She is beautiful: Тя е красива
Tya e krasiva
We are happy: Ние сме щастливи
Nie sme shtastlivi
They are dancing: Те танцуват
Te tantsuvat

Now we look into the subject pronoun such as "me, him, us, them ...".

Me: мен
men
You: теб
teb
Him: него
nego
Her: нея
neya
Us: нас

These are examples to demonstrate how the subject pronoun is used in a sentence.

Give me your phone number: Дай ми твоя телефонен номер
Day mi tvoya telefonen nomer
I can give you my email: Мога да ти дам моя й-мейл
Moga da ti dam tvoya i-meyl
Tell him to call me: Кажи му да ми се обади
Kazhi mu da mi se obadi
Can you call us?: Може ли да ни се обадиш?
Mozhe li da ni se obadish?

We reach now the possessive adjective part, used to refer to thing we possess. Examples: "my, our, their ...".

My: мой
moy
Your: твой
tvoy
His: негов
negov
Her: нейн
neyn
Our: наш
nash
Your (pl.): ваш
vash
Their: техен
tehen

Here are samples to demonstrate how the possessive adjective is used.

Our dream is to visit Spain: Нашата мечта е да посетим Испания
Nashata mechta e da posetim Ispaniya
Their country is beautiful: Страната е красива
Stranata e krasiva

This is the possessive pronoun. Used as an alternative to the possessive adjectives above. Instead of saying "It is my dog" you can say "It is mine".

Mine: на мен
na men
Yours: на теб
na teb
His: на него
na nego
Hers: на нея
na neya
Ours: на нас
na nas
Yours (pl.): на вас
na vas
Theirs: на тях
na tyah

These are some examples of the possessive pronoun in a sentence.

The book is mine: Книгата е на мен
Knigata e na men
Is this pen yours?: Този химикал на теб ли е?
Tozi himikal na teb li e?
The shoes are hers: Обувките са на нея
Obuvkite sa na neya
Victory is ours: Победата е на нас
Pobedata e na nas
