Brazilian Past

This is a list of verbs in the past tense in Brazilian. First let's start with the raw format before conjugating the verbs to the past form. Make sure to compare this table and the one below it.

To love: amar
To give: oferecer / dar
To play: brincar
To read: ler
To understand: entender
To have: ter
To know: saber
To learn: aprender
To think: pensar
To work: trabalhar
To speak: falar
To drive: dirigir

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the past tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I saw you: Eu vi você
I wrote with a pen: Eu escrevi com uma caneta
You loved apples: Você adorava maçãs
You gave money: Você deu dinheiro
You played tennis: Você jogava tênis
He read (past) a book: Ele leu um livro
He understood me: Ele me entendeu
She had a cat: Ela tinha um gato
She knew my friend: Ela conheceu meu amigo
We wanted to learn: Nós queríamos aprender
We thought Spanish is easy: Nós pensávamos que Espanhol seria fácil
You (plural) worked here: Vocês trabalharam aqui
You (plural) spoke French: Vocês falavam francês
They drove a car: Eles dirigiam um carro / Elas dirigiam um carro
They smiled: Eles sorriam / Elas sorriam
