Turkish Past

This is a list of verbs in the past tense in Turkish. First let's start with the raw format before conjugating the verbs to the past form. Make sure to compare this table and the one below it.

To love: Sevmek
To give: Vermek
To play: Oynamak
To read: Okumak
To understand: Anlamak
To have: Sahip olmak
To know: Bilmek
To learn: Öğrenmek
To think: Düşünmek
To work: Çalışmak
To speak: Konuşmak
To drive: Sürmek
To smile: Gülümsemek
To find: Bulmak

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the past tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I saw you: Seni gördüm
I wrote with a pen: Kalemle yazdım
You loved apples: Elmaları sevdin
You gave money: Para verdin
You played tennis: Tenis oynadın
He read (past) a book: Kitap okudu
He understood me: Beni anladı
She had a cat: Kedisi vardı
She knew my friend: Arkadaşımı tanıdı
We wanted to learn: Öğrenmek istedik
We thought Spanish is easy: İspanyolcanın kolay olduğunu düşündük
You (plural) worked here: Burada çalıştınız
You (plural) spoke French: Fransızca konuştunuz
They drove a car: Araba sürdüler
They smiled: Gülümsediler
