Marathi Present

This is a list of verbs in the present tense in Marathi. First let's start with the raw format before conjugating the verbs to the present form. Make sure to compare this table and the one below it.

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the present tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I see you: मी तुला पहाते / पहातो .
mī tulā pahātē/ pahātō.
I write with a pen: मी लेखणीने लिहिते / लिहितो .
Mī lēkhaṇīnē lihitē/ lihitō.
You love apples: मला सफरचंद आवडतात .
Malā sapharacanda āvaḍatāta.
You give money: तु पैसे देतोस / देतेस .
Tu paisē dētōsa/ dētēsa.
You play tennis: तु टेनिस खेळतेस / खेळतोस .
Tu ṭēnisa khēḷatēsa/ khēḷatōsa.
He reads a book: तो पुस्तक वाचतो .
Tō pustaka vācatō.
He understands me: तो मला समजुन घेतो .
Tō malā samajuna ghētō.
She has a cat: तिच्याकडे एक मांजर आहे .
Ticyākaḍē ēka mān̄jara āhē.
She knows my friend: ती माझ्या मित्राला / मैत्रिणीला ओळखते .
Tī mājhyā mitrālā/ maitriṇīlā ōḷakhatē.
We want to learn: आम्हाला शिकायचे आहे .
Āmhālā śikāyacē āhē.
We think Spanish is easy: आम्हाला वाटते स्पॅनिश सोपी भाषा आहे .
Āmhālā vāṭatē spĕniśa sōpī bhāṣā āhē.
You (plural) work here: तुम्ही येथे काम करता .
Tumhī yēthē kāma karatā.
You (plural) speak French: तुम्ही फ्रेंच बोलता .
Tumhī phrēn̄ca bōlatā.
They drive a car: ते कार / गाडी चालवतात .
Tē kāra/ gāḍī cālavatāta.
They smile: ते स्मितहास्य करतात .
Tē smitahāsya karatāta.
