Maltese Present

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the present tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I see you: Qed narak
I write with a pen: Nikteb b'pinna
You love apples: Inti tħobb it-tuffieħ
You give money: Inti tagħti l-flus
You play tennis: Inti tilgħab t-tennis
He reads a book: Hu jaqra ktieb
He understands me: Hu jifhimni
She has a cat: Hi għandha qattus (M), Hi għandha qattusa (F)
She knows my friend: Hi taf lill-ħabib tiegħi (M), Hi taf lill-ħabiba tiegħi (F)
We want to learn: Aħna rridu nitgħallmu
We think Spanish is easy: Aħna naħsbu li l-Ispanjol huwa ħafif
You (plural) work here: Intom taħdmu hawn
You (plural) speak French: Intom titkellmu bil-Franċiż
They drive a car: Huma jsuqu karozza
They smile: Huma jitbissmu
