Gaelic Colors

This is a list of colors in Gaelic. This will help you find ways to describe the colors of clothes, objects and much more.

Black: dubh
Blue: gorm
Brown: donn
Gray: liath
Green: uaine / glas
Orange: flannbhuí
Red: dearg; ruadh
White: geal; bàn
Yellow: buidhe
Dark color: dorcha
Light color: soilleir
Colors: dathan

These examples show how colors are used in Gaelic. This is a good way to demonstrate how adjectives (colors) are used with nouns and verbs.

The sky is blue: Tha an speur gorm.
Your cat is white: Tha an cat agad bàn.
Black is his favorite color: 'S e dubh an dath as fheàrr leis.
Red is not his favorite color: Chan e dearg an dath as fheàrr leis.
She drives a yellow car: Bidh i a' dràibheadh càr buidhe.
I have black hair: Tha falt dubh orm.
