Estonian Directions

These are expressions used when giving or getting directions in Estonian. Very useful when trying to find your way around or when lost.

Excuse me! (to ask someone): Vabandage, palun!
Can you show me?: Kas te võiksite mulle näidata?
I'm lost: Olen eksinud
I'm not from here: Ma ei ole siit pärit
Can I help you?: Kas ma saaksin teid aidata?
Can you help me?: Kas te saaksite mind aidata?
It's near here: See on lähedal
It's far from here: See on siit kaugel
Go straight: Minge otse
Turn left: Pöörake vasakule
Turn right: Pöörake paremale
One moment please!: Üks hetk, palun!
Come with me!: Tulge minuga!
How can I get to the museum? : Kuidas ma pääsen muuseumi?
How long does it take to get there?: Kui kaua sinna jõudmine aega võtab?
Downtown (city center): keskus / linnakeskus

The following are words which might be used alone or in combination with other words to ask or give directions.

Near: lähedal
Far: Kaugel
Right: Paremal
Left: Vasakul
Straight: Otse
There: seal
Here: siin
To walk: Kõndima
To drive: sõitma, juhtima
To turn: Pöörama
Traffic light: valgusfoor
